Service Technician

Perform a wide variety of duties related to inspecting, repairing, and servicing different operable systems distributed by Powers including but not limited to:
– Modernfold Operable Partitions (and other manufacturers)
– Smoke Guard Fire/Smoke Curtains
– Cornell/ Cookson/ McKeon coiling doors, shutters, grilles & fire curtains

The facilities in which these systems are located include any commercial buildings such as schools, offices, hotels, churches, hospitals, recreation centers, etc. and are located throughout Colorado, Wyoming, Western Nebraska, & New Mexico. The position will entail direct communication w/ contacts at these facilities ranging from building owners to maintenance managers, and as such, a commitment to professionalism and strong interpersonal skills are required.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
• Working overhead off lifts and ladders to adjust, repair, lubricate system components
• Dismantling and repairing parts
• Inspecting operable partitions & fire doors/ curtains
• Assessing needed repairs
• Working w/ hand tools and electric tools
• Interaction w/ building owners and representatives
• Finish work including fabric and vinyl repairs
• Documenting work and completing necessary paperwork
• Selling parts and added services as opportunities arise

DESIRED SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES:
• Mechanical aptitude and/or construction experience strongly preferred
• Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
• Resourceful and a team player
• Attention to detail, quality, and safety
• Comfort level working in finished environments to avoid damage to adjacent materials
• Professionalism
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

EDUCATION:
• High school diploma or GED

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Finished commercial buildings such as schools, offices, hotels, churches, hospitals, recreation centers, etc. throughout Colorado, Western Nebraska, Wyoming, & New Mexico. Physical work including heavy lifting. Work performed off ladders, scaffolding and lifts and sometimes includes confined spaces. Travel and periodic durations out of town. Some after hours and weekend work required to accommodate facility schedules.

COMPENSATION:
• $25-$30/hr DOE
• Base compensation dependent on relevant experience
• Company truck
• Tablet or laptop and mobile phone allowance
